Today's brides are sophisticated. All the bridal shows on TV have made brides more "detail oriented" than ever before. Not many young couples today have engagement parties so the Bridal Shower is probably the first celebration for the upcoming wedding. The simple showers of the past have been replaced by the upscale celebrations of today. The Bridesmaids normally host the shower but it can also be hosted by friends or even family. For something different you might have a "Bridal Brunch" serving breakfast foods like french toast casserole, muffins and bagels with cream cheese. A  Bridal Luncheon can be fun in the middle of a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Serve a menu in keeping with the season. In the spring and summer try chicken salad croissants and fruit salad topped off with a cream puff drizzled with chocolate sauce for dessert . During the fall and winter serve a variety of soups and salads or sandwiches to warm up your guests. Nice table linens make any event more special. Depending on the bride's colors choose a white or ivory cloth accented with napkins the color of the bridesmaids dresses. Celebrating the bride feels even more special when you take the time to plan an event that will make every guest leave, feeling that she is happy she came!!
